Position Description:
About Us: The Renaissance Foundation (TRF) is a private, non-profit, family foundation with an office and staff located in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Since its inception, TRF has primarily invested in educational access and services for those with financial need. The Foundation's signature program, the Renaissance Scholars Program (RSP) focuses on providing renewable college scholarships to talented students with significant financial need who will be the first in their family to earn a bachelor's degree. The program is currently supporting nearly 800 scholars at colleges across the country. The program’s primary function is awarding scholarship funds, but we also have resources and enrichment opportunities we offer to scholars as well. We are a partnership-driven program, working closely with several college success organizations in our communities to ensure that our scholars are supported outside of the scholarship funds that they receive from us. RSP is fully funded by The Renaissance Foundation.

The Position: The primary duties of the Scholarship Program Coordinator are coordinating the scholarship application process, collecting and maintaining student data, managing the funds distribution process, and supporting Renaissance Scholars through their college journeys.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Scholarship Application & Funds Distribution Processes
  • Continually review the online scholarship application each year, make improvements as needed
  • Communicate deadlines and reminders to applicants throughout season
  • Confirm eligibility and completeness of all applications
  • Assign volunteer committee applications for review
  • Schedule student interviews
  • Prepare correspondence to notify applicants of award decisions
  • Collect individual scholar enrollment and financial aid information to prepare for funds distribution
  • Facilitate scholarship funds distribution each term
  • Manage Applicant & Scholar Data
  • Assist scholars and applicants with scholarship questions, serving as an informational resource
  • Collect individual scholar enrollment and GPA information to manage annual renewal process
  • Maintain up to date applicant, scholar, partner, and funds information in Zoho CRM
  • Work with RSP team to solve individual scholar issues as needed
  • Prepare reports for RSP team and partners
  • Facilitate Scholar Resources & Events
  • Work with RSP team to develop content for student newsletters
  • Collect student information for social media posts
  • Provide one-off and mass-communicated support to scholars to encourage them to access their college’s support resources
  • Work with RSP team to coordinate and facilitate virtual and in-person events
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Exceptional attention to detail and interest in data management
  • Experience collecting and synthesizing large amounts of data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong familiarity with student resources on college campuses
  • Experience working with students in a support capacity
  • Demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of students
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality

Strongly Preferred Experience:

  • Previous higher education work experience in financial aid or student services
  • Experience using a CRM
  • Experience using Canva or similar
  • Event planning experience (virtual, in-person, or both)

Hours: Full-time/40 hours per week.

Compensation and Benefits Range: $44,000-$46,000

Benefits: A stipend to contribute to health insurance coverage, enrollment in a SIMPLE IRA plan with 3% employer match (after first 90 days), as well as a generous PTO package and 10 paid holidays per year.

Location: The Renaissance office is in Lake Oswego, Oregon. This is primarily an in-person role with some room for flexibility to work remote after an introductory training period.
